When were vibrators  invented?

Vibrators have been around since around 1880. Curiously, they were initially designed to treat "hysteria" in women. Presumably researchers were aware of the soothing effects orgasms produce and they saw this "orgasm machine" as a way to foster well-being in women

 How do vibrators work?

Vibrators contain an electric or battery powered motor that produces vibrations. When the power is turned on the vibrating motor is activated, creating vibrations.

Battery or  electric powered vibrators which to choose?
Beyond the obvious difference of power sources, battery powered vibrators tend to be less powerful than electric powered vibrators. This is not always the case, but generally the designers of electric vibrators don't have to consider conserving power during use, and the type of motor available to them tends to be more powerful.

Electric Vibrator.

Never use an electric plug-in vibrator around water. Any contact with water can create a severe electrical shock. Always use the same precautions with and electric vibrator that you would use with any other electrical appliance.

Battery Operated.

If your vibrator is battery operated make sure the batteries are charged before inserting them into the battery compartment. If batteries are designed to work side-by-side, they should be placed with the positive (+) and negative (-) sides in opposite directions. If there are two or three batteries in a row, the  positive (+) sides should be facing all in the same direction. Make sure batteries make a firm contact with the vibrator battery contacts and screw the cap on tightly. Never allow the batteries or any internal vibrator mechanisms to get wet. It's a good idea to remove the batteries and store separately when the vibrator is not in use. This will prevent any corroding on the vibrator motor. If the vibrator is not working properly try taking an eraser and rubbing it over the battery tips to try and make a better connection

 Styles  of vibrators out there?

Vibrators come in different styles because people like to use them in different ways. For example, a clitoral vibrator is designed to stimulate the clitoris while a G-Spot vibrator is designed to stimulate the G-Spot. There are many different styles to choose from and some vibrators even combine two or more different styles. Sex Toys are made from numerous types of material too.  Each material has its unique advantages and disadvantages as you can see.

Plastic
Plastic is ideal for transmitting vibrations. The motor inside a hard plastic vibrator does not have to work as hard as a motor inside a vibrator made of softer materials. The vibrations in a hard plastic vibrator are also going to be a bit more intense than in a jelly vibrator. On the other hand, vibrators made from a combination of materials, say hard plastic and jelly for example, can offer many more options than a vibrator made from just plastic. Clitoral stimulators, rotating beads and oscillating tips are features that require the use of several materials.
Plastic sex toys are usually hard and perfectly smooth, though a few models have textured shafts. Plastic is a popular (and traditional) material for vibrators; they are sleekly styled and easy to clean.
Plastic vibrators are well suited for direct clitoral and both internal and external stimulation. Cleaning is a breeze requiring only a wet washcloth, some sex toy cleaner, or a tissue soaked in rubbing alcohol. As most plastic vibrators are not waterproof, they should not normally be washed in water. Check out waterproof vibrators if you want one that you could use in the bath, or that you can under clean under running water.

Silicone
Silicone is a very lifelike material, (second only to Cyberskin); it looks and feels real. Silicone vibrators come in all colors, shapes and sizes. It has a few advantages over latex and jelly. Silicone material is relatively non-porous, making it easy to clean; all it requires soap and hot water, and can actually be boiled or put in the dishwasher (though this should not be done with a silicone vibrator, due to it’s internal mechanics). Silicone warms to the body quickly and retains heat, which adds to the realistic feel.
As Silicone is non-porous nature, it is less likely to trap and spread germs amongst users who are sharing (assuming they aren't using a condom – which IS recommended). Silicone is a high quality material that lasts longer, but is generally more expensive than latex or jelly.

Jelly
Jelly toys are similar to silicone in feel and look, although they are not quite as smooth and lifelike. However, jelly is a much cheaper material and offers most of the benefits of silicone. Also, jelly is flexible - though not quite as much so as silicone. Jelly toys are available in many colors.
Jelly is relatively porous, so toys should not be shared unless a condom is used. Jelly will degrade if exposed to a non-water based lubricant or rubbing alcohol, so always use a water based (NOT oil) lubricant. The porous nature of jelly makes it harder to remove germs from the surface. The best way to clean jelly toys is with a cleaner specifically designed for sex toys; soap and water will work, but will not sterilize the surface.

Latex
Most sex toys are made from latex, as it is a low cost option compared to silicone and jelly. Latex is a bit less flexible than silicone and jelly, and does not last as long. Latex is also quite porous and therefore not as easy to clean as some materials. Use a condom if you share a latex toy. Latex toys can be cleaned with soap and warm water. Some people are allergic to latex. If you or your partner is allergic to latex condoms, you might want to try a toy made of silicone or jelly.

Other
Metal dildos are similar to plastic ones, in that they have a hard, usually smooth exterior and are easy to clean.
Acrylic is a form of special plastic. It can be very beautiful as it has visual properties similar to glass. Acrylic toys are durable and easy to clean.
Cyberskin/Ultra Skin are the closest you can get to the look and feel of real skin. New (relatively expensive) materials, they are soft, flexible, and smooth and feel like skin. They are porous like latex and jelly, so should be cleaned with special solution, or at least carefully with soap and warm water.
safe glass vibrators

Phallix glass vibrators which are made from medical grade Pyrex glass -- a durable glass that undergoes a rigorous tempering and testing process during production. Phallix guarantees that all of its products are safe and so far never heard of any safety problems with glass vibrators or dildos.

Which vibrators available is considered the  "best"?

The answer to this question would have to be no. There are a few vibrators that stand out as huge sellers though. The Impulse Jack Rabbit Vibrator and the Hitachi Magic Wand are two that could be described as more popular than others. The reason that it is impossible to point to one and call it "the best" is because the popularity of a vibrator depends on who is using it and what it is being used for. There are so many styles designed to stimulate different areas that it is impossible to choose just one.
However my personal favorite is the Impulse Ultra 7 Bullet which I find has a lot of fun ways to play with it. Now many naughty souls will back me up on this on here ... I would place 7 or 8 in a few select areas and then have some fun with it. At this time I need to replenish my own toys as I have worn the ones I had out ... they just don't last like a Toyota does. If you get this toy be prepared to have at least 4 double A battery's per each 20 minutes of play. Let the battery's cool down before starting again ... this will be a good way to make sure yo do not fry your toy from over use.

How long do vibrators  last?
Depending on the quality of the vibrator, they can last anywhere from a few months to a few years. Avoid the cheaper products that tend to break down relatively quickly, so you can expect the vibrators in the DominatrixRose Toy  Store to last longer than what is typical for the industry. Quality has improved in recent years as vibrators have moved into the main stream, and it will continue to improve as time goes on. The more a vibe dose such as twirl spin and other movements tend to burn out faster the  basic ones do. Nothing like being in the heat of the moment and have one die on you.

                                             The   Egg
These are a great deal of fun to play with. The remote ones can be very special indeed. However if an egg is used internally then be sure to condom the toy I personally use three condoms one for health reasons but secondly because when you remove the toy do not pull it out by the wires as they will pull out of the egg hence you just damaged it. If you pull it out with three condoms you know the cord is safe and you also know that no bacteria what so ever worked its way inside of the egg. For couples using this method clean up and re-gloving (condom) makes it easy to share the toy with each other.  Always check the egg about every 20 minutes let it cool down or it will burn up and some eggs get hot to the touch and as it is not enough to burn your private areas it might not make it a pleasant experience you are eager to try again.
What are differences between vibrators,  stimulators and massagers?
These terms are descriptive and they don't really draw too much of a distinction between one or the other. Massagers tend to be products that can double as a muscle massager like the Hitachi Magic Wand, but all three terms can and often are used interchangeably.

Your Vibrator is now at your home ...
ahhhhhhhhhhhh how sweet it is ....
When your receive your vibrator, the first thing you are going to need to do before you put it to use is to clean it properly. Directions for cleaning the various types of vibrators: battery, electric, water-proof are explained in the packaging. Do follow those instructions carefully,

When I first got my PES Unit I read the instructions and thought well a little more bleach is good thing ... well I regret to say it corroded the anal probe so much the gold plating came off  rendering the toy useless. I also had not use the recommended lubrication and went with the Eros I love and a silicone base lube on a silicone toy bound it up making the toys useless. Now when you look at the prices for the attachments this was a costly reading lesson. BTW the People at PES were wonderful about this and helped me out above and beyond which only endeared that company more to my heart. I say Bravo to the Owner he has not just a fabulous product but the best team of people I have ever dealt with in any store and highly recommend them to any and all.

Please look at bottom of list up above for more tips on vibrator care cleaning and storage..
